My client is a busy working Mum with two lovely little girls. They have a gorgeous house with a specific room dedicated as the playroom. Although the space is good, the room would often get overloaded with toys and much of it wouldn’t get played with.
I helped by sorting through the toys and sectioning into anything that was broken, or no longer played with due to their age. I asked my client to look through this section and agree what could be thrown away, donated or sold.
I then grouped toys and placed them on the shelves at the appropriate height. Paints needed to be up out the way ready for supervised play! Jigsaws and games lower down so they could be accessed easily. I also went through all the baskets and created sets of boxes and containers that could house smaller items that would be fun to play with. As I went I dusted and cleaned the area, finishing with a hoover. All completed just in time for the girls to return home to after school.
Larger toys that were played with less now but still enjoyed were placed on the top shelf, creating a impact to the room.
The room has since remained much easier to tidy and manage, as there is less in it, with everything having its own space or shelf or basket, which the girls are enjoying.
